No Class Tonight

Sorry to disappoint folks, we’ve just heard from PSP and looks like there’s been some last minute issues with approval to reopen the club so no classes tonight.

The good news is that it looks like we’ll likely have everything sorted out in time for Friday’s class, but keep an eye out for updates as we have them.

Training Resumes!

BBYAC has gotten permission to restart training!! First class will be Tuesday the 12th of October.  Please try and register early as the waiver sheet is now even more complicated.

In order to ensure training is conducted in the safest manner possible the follow guidelines must be followed:

  • You will be required to complete Member Check In & Tracing Form for each class.
  • All adults must provide proof of vaccination.
  • To assist in maintaining social distancing the mat surface will be divided into multiple training areas.  Once assigned personnel must train within the designated areas
  • Dojo equipment must be disinfected after use. Please use the disinfectant spray located beside the club cabinets. You are permitted to bring your personal weapons. Please do not share without thoroughly disinfecting.
  • Masks are required to be worn at all times while in the Building.
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth. When coughing or sneezing: cough or sneeze into a tissue or the bend of your arm, not your hand. Dispose of any tissues you have used as soon as possible in a wastebasket and wash your hands immediately afterwards.
  • The washrooms are open however you are responsible to sanitize the washroom prior to and after use with disinfectant provided.
  • Food and/or drinks must be consumed at the rear of the dojo.  This is the only time a mask can be removed
  • Two meter social distancing will be maintained at all times. Special care must be taken entering or exiting washrooms and the dojo.

Reopening Plans

Hi Everyone!

Just wanted to post an update to let everyone know that we’re still working with PSP to figure out what reopening will look like and the protocols that will need to be followed, so no firm dates on when we can reopen yet unfortunately, but will continue to update as we know more ourselves.

Once again, thanks for the patience and hopefully we’ll be back together on the mats soon.

Reopening in September

To BBYAC Aikidoka.

PSP has indicated that, as long as there are no significant changes to the COVID regulations we should be able to re-open in September.  Initially the club will be open to only Defense Team Members and their families.  This is to ensure that space will be available to Base personnel even with the reduced numbers.  Once we have a handle on our numbers we will be requesting permission to open up for our existing membership.

It’s been a long time coming but finally there is a light at the end of the tunnel that isn’t an oncoming train.

Once we have our COVID protocols approved we will be passing on further information.  Thank you for your patience.

BBYAC Executive,

No Classes Until Further Notice

Hope everyone is doing well! Unfortunately efforts to restrict the spread of Covid-19 continue to classes will continue to be on hiatus until further notice.

We’ll continue to update as we know more, in the meantime stay safe and try and take some time to work on your basic movements!

No Classes until April 7th

As part of the efforts to slow the spread of Covid-19, the rec facilities on base will be closed for the next few weeks so no classes until April 7th.

Stay safe, wash your hands and we’ll see everyone in April!

Spring Forward!

Time once again for the reminder that the clocks will be going forward this Sunday. Make sure you don’t accidentally show up late!
